Dr. Dirk Dorfs from the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry of Leibniz Universität Hannover has successfully completed his habilitation procedure. After his habilitation colloquium on November 7, 2017 on the topic "Physical Chemistry of Photocatalytic Water Splitting: Still Fresh After 40 Years?" He held his inaugural lecture on January 17, 2018 entitled "Nanocrystals - Size matters".
The core competences of PD Dr. Dirk Dorfs are:
- Synthesis of colloidal nanoparticles (semiconductors and metals)
- Colloidal nanoparticles of complex composition
- Advanced shape control of nanoparticles (rods, branched, hollow, etc.)
- Optical properties of nanoparticles
- Interactions of various nanoparticles (metal / semiconductor, etc.)
Congratulations from the LNQE!
