Admission information
Prospective students for the master's program
Are you interested in a master's degree in nanotechnology at LUH and wondering if you're a fit?
While it is not possible to give you definitive statements about possible admission in advance. However, in the following you will receive the necessary information for self-assessment:
You will need prior knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanical and electrical engineering. As a minimum requirement, in previous studies you must have at least
• 15 ECTS-LP in Mathematics,
• 15 ECTS-LP in one of the subjects chemistry, physics, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering and respectively
• 10 ECTS-LP in the other three subjects
must be proven. The detailed criteria for admission are set out in the Nanotechnology Admission Regulations:
Primary language of Instruction: German (min. language level C1 GER)
If there is a small amount of prior knowledge missing, conditions may be imposed which may mean an extension of your studies. If insufficient prior knowledge can be proven, the application will usually be rejected.
Please note that the Master's program in Nanotechnology is a very specialized and broad-based program. The imposition of conditions is therefore not uncommon.
However, you are welcome to simply apply to us.

Extension of provisional admission and extension of the deadline for fulfilling requirements in the master's program
If you do not complete your Bachelor's degree within the specified period or have not (fully) fulfilled your requirements (your letter of admission informs you of this), you have the option of submitting an application for a corresponding extension in order to avoid automatic de-registration. This application, signed by you, must be submitted approx. 2 weeks before the end of the semester (mid-March / mid-September) (email to radatz@maphy.uni-hannover.de).
The application for extension of provisional admission must include information about which modules of your Bachelor's program are still open and for what reason. Attach existing evidence (e.g. inability to take exams for a longer period of time). It is also relevant which of the possible examination attempts you have taken.
The application for extension of the deadline for fulfillment of requirements must contain information about which requirements you have been given in total, which of them, if any, have already been passed, which have not been passed and for what reason. It is also relevant which of the possible examination attempts you have taken. Attach any existing evidence (e.g. inability to take exams over a longer period of time).
Please note that an extension of admission can only be granted for good cause and plan your studies ahead.
