Now it is official: after the German Wissenschaftsrat recommended the building project Laboratory of Nano and Quantum Engineering (LNQE) in July 2008 for federal funding, has now the Joint Science Conference (GWK) of the Federal Government and the Länder finally granted the funding. The costs of the building project are 14 Mio Euros.
The GWK is the successor organization of the German Bund-Länder-Kommission for education planning and scientific funding, and has begun at 1st January 2008 its work.
