New member from the field of physical chemistry

The working group is concerned with materials for energy conversion and material separation that are based on thermo-iono-electronic principles. Knowledge-based approaches include targeted syntheses and functional characterisations as well as a comprehensive study of the real structure at different hierarchical levels down to the sub-nanometre scale. X-ray diffraction with structure refinement methods, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy are used to determine the real structure of the materials.
