Great success for LNQE member Prof. Dr. Silke Ospelkaus from the Institute of Quantum Optics at Leibniz University Hannover. Her DFG Research Unit "From few to many-body physics with dipolar quantum gases" is extended for a second funding period.
The Research Unit with researchers from all over Germany and Austria deals with dipolar gases in the highly competitive field of ultracold gases. It is expected that the long-range and anisotropic character of the dipole-dipole interaction will lead to an exciting new physics for dipoles on the two-body as well as on the multi-body level.
