New Doctoral Program for Research of Contacts in Nanosystems

Lower Saxony promotes NTH project under the direction of Professor Haug

In the latest round of the newly funded Lower Saxony doctoral programs the " NTH School for Contacts in Nanosystems : Interactions , Control and Quantum Dynamics " was successful. The project of the Niedersachsen Institutes of Technology ( NTH ), brings together the different but complementary expertise of the solid-state physicist at the universities of Braunschweig , Clausthal -Zellerfeld and Hannover in order to achieve a better understanding of contact effects in nanostructures. Coordinator is Prof. Dr. Rolf Haug of the Institute for Solid State Physics and Speaker of the executive board of the Laboratory of Nano and Quantum Engineering at the Leibniz Universität Hannover.

The new doctoral program is funded by the state of Lower Saxony with a million Euros for the period of four years starting at 1 October 2014. Granted were fifteen scholarships and funding for equipment and travel costs of the scholarship holders.

Congratulations from LNQE!
