High honour for LNQE member with funding of 2 million euros

Prof. Dr. Michael Zopf from the Institute of Solid State Physics at Leibniz University Hannover has acquired a Lower Saxony Impulse Professorship.

As part of the Impulse Professorship, he plans to further investigate the properties of colloidal quantum dots and to use them to advance the field of quantum photonics by developing and integrating new semiconductor nanomaterials into photonic components. In this context, the funding of the Lower Saxony Impulse Professorship is intended to develop a versatile quantum photonics platform that paves the way for the next generation of quantum photonics technologies. The project will be funded with a total of 2 million euros.

With the funding line ‘Niedersachsen-Impuls-Professur’ from zukunft.niedersachsen, the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture and the Volkswagen Foundation support the universities in Lower Saxony in attracting and retaining promising academic talent in early career phases for the science location of Lower Saxony.

Congratulations from the LNQE!
