That was "the Night that Creates Knowledge" 2018 in the LNQE

Laboratory tours showed nanoparticles, quantum states and clean room technologies

On Saturday, November 10, 2018, the "Night that Creates Knowledge" was once again held at Leibniz University Hannover and numerous institutes and institutions presented highlights from their research to all those interested - including the LNQE!

Under the motto "Smallest things - man-made", an hourly laboratory tour with three stations was offered:

  • Nanoparticles: The AG Bigall from chemistry gave insights into the world of nanomaterials and showed fluorescent nanoparticles.
  • Quantum states: AG Ospelkaus from physics showed a complex structure for capturing ions for basic experiments in quantum optics.
  • Cleanroom: The LNQE presented cleanroom technology in research construction and in particular a project for the novel development of solar cells with ion implantation from electrical engineering.

The evening was a complete success with a total of 100 visitors. We had a lot of fun!
